Theater and Theology
A comedy about serious stuff! Mary, new teacher and novice at St. Aloysius School, endangers her future as a nun by disagreeing with Mother Superior about God’s nature and how to educate 3rd graders. Mary’s dream of Sisterhood is further threatened with the reappearance of a childhood sweetheart. Will Mary give up on being a nun in the face of all the challenges to her unorthodox views? This comedy was written about Catholics in the USA, but the debate about how to handle education, religious change, and conflicts between religious law and the law of compassion are as relevant in Jerusalem as in Anytown, USA.
Every performance is followed by a discussion with a scholar
